Construction Membranes: Wrapshield Air Tight

Proctor wrapshield air tight
wall applications

The subject of mould and mildew is of great importance and concern in the construction industry today. The concept of “sick buildings” is a term that all designers and building owners are aware of and are trying to prevent. Products which do not allow your building to breathe adequately may actually be trapping moisture, which is the primary cause of mould.

Proctor Wrapshield Air Tight (AT) was developed to address the needs of building envelope construction where a water tight, air tight and vapour permeable barrier is required.

Wrapshield AT is a triple layer polypropylene textile developed primarily as a breather membrane for use in timber and steel frame wall construction behind rain screen claddings and as vapour permeable underlay for supported metal roof applications.

Wrapshield AT affords effective protection, during construction and for the life of the building, against wind-driven rain, snow and dust and allows for the controlled escape of vapour from within the building whilst restricting the ingress of moisture.

Wrapshield AT is a highly durable, strong and lightweight textile membrane that is quiet when exposed to wind, will last the lifetime of the building even in corrosive coastal environments, and will not interrupt television and radio signals.

In combination with taping overlaps, Wrapshield AT forms an air tight wrap for the building reducing the loss of heated air or cooled air from the building thus improving the energy effi ciency of the building envelope.
